Rambling the desert in a dune buggy is something you must do within your lifetime. It involves a lot of fun and some considerable amount of sand getting everywhere. Nevertheless, a dune buggy is one hell of a machine. Sadly, they are almost never road-ready, most of the time being illegal to drive them on public roads and highways. Zarooq Sand Racer, the first UAE production car, aims to solve the issue of road driving.
V6 for the win!
Powered by a 3.5 liter V6 engine, Zarooq Sand Racer is estimated to take out 500hp through the rear wheel transmission system. It features a tubular chassis built from high tensile steel over which a fiberglass body has been added. The result is a body mass of just 2,300 lbs.
This one’s a bouncer
Zarooq Sand Racer comes with high-performance Fox shocks (the same used for Baja competitions) and coilovers, this dune buggy can flex and bounce really hard. Featuring 12.4 inches of ground clearance, you are clearly away from hitting any low-placed objects on the road.
While there isn’t yet a price tag available, stay tuned as this buggy is about to be officially released right after the New Year.
