Chris Pratt admits he’d want to go by a different name even if he shares the same first name as many other big men in Hollywood. Since playing the clumsy Andy Dwyer in Parks and Recreation, Pratt has established himself as a leading man in action movies by playing Star-Lord in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Owen Grady in the Jurassic World series. The Terminal List, an upcoming Amazon series in which he portrays a former Navy SEAL called back into service, is his most recent endeavor.
Pratt will reprise his role as Star-Lord, the commander of the Guardians of the Galaxy, in Thor: Love and Thunder shortly after The Terminal List is released. As Chris Hemsworth reprises his role as the film’s titular character, he will appear alongside another well-known Chris. Pratt, Hemsworth, and former Captain America actor Chris Evans make up a sort of imaginary trinity, and as many people have noted online, the MCU is infamous for casting actors called Chris. Hollywood’s most well-known Chrises, according to the internet, include Chris Pine from Star Trek.
Although Pratt’s remark was probably intended for fun, his emotions make sense. After all, the name Chris is just as popular as John or Tom. Pratt gets to spend time with other actors of the same name because of the MCU, and it’s likely that each of them has answered calls intended for the other. Pratt prefers to use the nickname “Pratt” because most fans now refer to the Chrises by their last names in order to keep them apart. His hopes may not be realized for people online, though, since the jokes about the Hollywood Chris actors are unlikely to abate any time soon.
