MultiVersus is a brand-new platform fighting videogames that is free to play. It has an ever-expanding cast of renowned characters and universes, many online game modes, including a team-based 2 vs. 2 formats, and ongoing seasons that are jam-packed with content.
The free-to-play Smash-like game combines several of Warner Bros’s intellectual properties, which is really gaining attention lately.
For all platforms, MultiVersus offers cross-play and cross-platform growth. The PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC platforms all support MultiVersus. You can play with pals on various consoles and platforms, irrespective of the platform you use.
Having launched open beta a week ago, it has been taking off. It has consistently ranked high on Steam’s list of active players, above titans like CS: GO and Apex Legends, and most recently reached a peak of over 150,000 gamers. In addition to being accessible on PlayStation and Xbox, MultiVersus has at least 5 million players worldwide based on what I’ve seen on its leaderboards.
Although Warner Bros. has not provided any official statistics for MultiVersus, its leaderboards offer us a reasonable sense of the number of players who have downloaded the game in the previous week.
MultiVersus may be for you if you’re seeking for the next Super Smash Bros. However, you might want to seek elsewhere if you enjoy playing combat games like Mortal Kombat 11 or Street Fighter 6.
A lot of people have been asking if MultiVersus will eventually have a story mode, which in its part will be enjoyable for people who like RPGs or just enjoy lore. But right now it does not have a story mode option and they might not even consider it because of the diversity and a large number of upcoming characters.
With this multitude of characters, every and each fandom united to get in on this game. Whether you are a Steven Universe fan or more of a Scooby Doo enjoyer, there is a place for everyone in this multiplayer upcoming game.
