An affordable yet complex watch for the slightly larger public? That’s definitely not a new deal for watchmaker Montblanc. Released for the first time in 2014, Montblanc brings back the Heritage Chronometrie Perpetual Calendar Sapphire. While the watch is rather straightforward, there’s still plenty to uncover beneath the 40mm case.
Smoked Sapphire
The thoughtful execution done by Montblanc is the crown jewel of this watch. Many perpetual calendars are welcomed with negative feedback regarding the cadrature. In layman’s terms, the calendar is so low beneath the dial that it’s really out of view. However, by choosing a Sapphire dial, Montblanc customers get a really good look at the inners of the mechanism.
The restrained 40mm case and the sub-10mm thickness present a watch that fits most wrists. While you can’t really tell how the watch fits and feels until you actually wear it, it does definitely give the impression of a long-lasting partner.
