The Paris Collection
The simple question of where simplicity turns to greatness is not so often answered with simple words. It takes men of complex action to take things a step further. This is what Wanderlust Watches is here to do. Their Kickstarter project represents the revival of what was considered obsolete in terms of men fashion: the pocket watch.
They named their collection Paris, in remembrance of Jean-Antoine Lepine, a local clockmaker from Paris in the 18th Century. The Paris Collection comes in three different colours, all bearing names from distinct famous neighbourhoods in the City of Light.
The first is called Vaugirard, a black rendition of your grandfather’s most precious possession, his pocket watch. The second comes Le Marais, white and stylish, a touch of class for you to add to your collection. Champs-Elysees is third, but definitely not last. White with a beige outline and back, doubled by a golden strap, the model shines as a standalone beauty. The whole collection is unisex, so if you think about a great gift for her, you got it right here. As a sidenote, even if I find them best as they come, the straps are all interchangeable.
Quality With A Modern Twist
What I like the most when I look at this collection, besides the design, is the quality shaping their identity. They are made using the finest of 316L Stainless steel, scratch resistant and very robust. The test of time will prove this material was the best decision. Also the glass impresses, the Sapphire glass ranks second on a resistance test, with crystal being the only one above. The movement is provided by a Swiss Quartz system, meaning greater precision, lower costs and better design.
The whole piece is only 9mm thick, super slim, times less than what our ancestors used to wear and weighing a lot less.
