In a world full of touchscreens, projectors and VR sets, a classic piece of hardware that fits the current flow of life is hard to find. Surviving through a multitude of possible electronic replacements and fashion trends, watches have not lost their usage.
Mechanical watches have always been a part of a gentleman’s EveryDay Carry (EDC), as well as a reliable tool for military and police agencies. Celebrating their 25th anniversary, Swiss company Luminox released the Recon Leader chronograph, a high performance watch.
One for the adventurous type
Keeping in mind the trials an adventurous man goes through, Luminox Recon Leader encapsulates various features to aid in the process of climbing mountains, diving deep waters or hiking dangerous trails. The Recon Leader comes with multiple timezones, dive timer, walking speed scale and a bezel compass. All these are kept inside a 46mm, carbon reinforced PC case.
Built to survive anywhere
It’s not something out of the ordinary for watches to withstand submersion. Luminox took its performance product one step further ensuring it can hold it together 100m deep into the water, or at 10 atmospheres of pressure. Its quartz mechanism is placed under a sapphire glass treated with anti-reflective coating and featuring anti-scratching properties. The strap itself acts as a measurement tool and contains three map scales.
You will likely not find this price tag on your everyday grocery receipt, but given the capabilities and the limited number of pieces available, Luminox Recon Leader ensures you’ll have an ally even in the worst scenarios where any other electronic device will fail to aid.
