Even guys know that every house looks more like a home when you’ve got a couple of green, healthy plants displayed around the room. But most people tend to forget about watering them, giving them enough light or cleaning them once in a while. Hey, they don’t scream when they’re hungry, how could we possibly remember to feed them every day?
Well now… there’s an App for that. And not only an App, but also a physical sensor that will monitor your plant’s well-being and let you know about its needs. It comes in two main variations – for indoor and outdoor plants, the second one being, of course, weather proof and more expensive ($156). The App is available only for iOS and it allows you to check the health of your plants in real time.
The Koubachi website lets you find the plant species you want to monitor and then calculates an individual care plan for every plant. All you have to do is download the App and press a button on the sensor to sync. It measures soil moisture, surface moisture, fertilization, temperature, and ambient light to assess your plant’s vitality. One sensor can be used for multiple plants.
It works on two AA batteries which will last for about one year, before you can manually replace them. Design-wise, it’s very sleek and will blend in any environment.
It’s an amazing device, we think. Maybe it could have been just a bit less expensive, but for what it promises to do, it’s probably worth it.
