There are a ton of pipe dream projects out there targeting roadsters. However, it is sad to see that many of them don’t leave design stage while others are barely aesthetic or functional, not even to consider a possible series. Jannarelly Design-1 does, however, take a totally different route and delivers a project inspired from 60’s roadsters but with way more modern components.
To be honest, this is the kind of product we’d like to see reaching a production stage. It’s not too heavy for its chassis neither it boasts an unnecessary look. This is all due to the collaborative efforts of Anthony Jannarelly and Frederic Julliot.
Julliot is a leading developer in Equation Composite while Anthony is known for the more famous supercars such as Lykkan Hypersport or Fenyr Supersport. While the current roadster concept does not employ the same alien design lines, it definitely appeals to the eye.
The setup consists of a two-seater roadster emplaced in a tubular high-tensile steel frame. The frame is accompanied by aluminum plates while the bodywork is dressed in fiberglass and lightweight carbon fiber.
Given its lengthy hood, one would expect to see an engine placed beneath it; however, the roadster will probably feature a V8 unit located in the mid-rear section of the car, right behind the seats. Unfortunately, no other details regarding performance were given for the moment. On the other hand, the car is about to make a public appearance sometime in February 2016.
