After six years of waiting we finally get to see the new Espolon Anejo X Tequila. The master distiller Cirilo Oropeza has been preparing it for the market very carefully and it has been worth the wait.
The design of this amazing bottle has been influenced by the legendary Mexican artist Jose Guadalupe Posada, who was famous for making satirical remarks with his art in his time, but is remembered today along with the Mexican holiday Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The black, matte bottle will definitely make you wonder what is hiding on the inside. By now, I think is already obvious that the bottle will be the star of your liquor shelf.
You don’t often get the chance to find a tequila of this quality and this age on the market, especially in such a amazing bottle. All the Espolon Tequilas are made from 100% Weber Blue Agave, which is known for its strong, vibrant flavor. You will get a rich taste and a smell of spices like vanilla and nutmeg. A feast for the senses along with its golden color.
The retail price of this particular tequila might surprise you, considering how much passion, time and work has been put into the making of it. It comes at around $100 (750 ml, 41% alc./vol) and you can use it in a cocktail of your choice, but it is recommended to try it out first with just some ice. If you want one of it (a good drink needs to be served in small quantities) try to get it as fast as possible. The tequila is a limited edition one so there will be no more in a couple of weeks.
