Beauty and the beast
Ducati has always been one of my favourite motorbike manufacturers. Their models represent cornerstones in the industry of making people feel the pure adrenaline rush, no mix, no set up, only true feeling. They got a special place in my heart for two reasons, as I feel that their concepts make the beauty and the beast meet on the track and on the road. The models’ design is always spectacular, the characteristics the body gave them an unique trace of brilliance.
Also, on the other side of the waltz is the engine, the beast. These guys just know how to make the sky thunder above you, announcing your coming. It is this exact same way I feel about the 1299 Paniagle S. This beauty is a special blend of history, fiction and roaring might, awaiting for you to be unleashed.
Cast aside your doubts, it’s time to feel free
This new 1285 cc superquadro engine, the L-twin, is cleverly paired with the Monoscocca chassis, providing a fully operational interface for the rider, giving him the easiest way around to make use of 205 horsepower all put at his will. Having only 166.5 kg we can clrealy conclude that the accent is on lighter, yet stronger. We can consider for true that this model is a reference in its class regarding the power-to-weight ratio.
The 1299 electronics showcasee an already familiar series of Ducati accomplishments, like the EBC (Engine Break Control), DTC (Ducati Traction Control) and three switchable riding modes. The newcomer in here is the DQS (Ducati Quick Shift), a new tool thought to give you a remote control-like function for changing the gears up and down on the six-speed levels transmission.
