Lately, I think we’ve all come to terms with the words of a brilliant fictional character that “the things you own end up owning you”. It’s just how things are nowadays. You spend way too much time pulling your phone out of your pocket and mindlessly checking your e-mail, Facebook or whatever. But it doesn’t have to be like that. If you can integrate technology in your life in a more natural way, I bet it wouldn’t be so stressful. And here’s where the common wrist watch comes into play.
Except… what we’re showing you today is not JUST a watch, but also a smart time piece that connects to your iDevice and allows you to keep track of your notifications (and other stuff) without looking at your phone.
We know that smart watches are not exactly the hottest thing in town, but, as we always say – this one’s a little different. It’s called the COOKOO watch and, at first sight, what sets it apart from other smart watches is the design and analogue function, combined to give a modern, sleek look. Unlike other smart watches, this one is round (yes, a round watch, big shocker!), battery life is way better (up to 1 year!), and why not say it, it’s cheaper.
The COOKOO watch uses Bluetooth® 4.0 LE wireless technology and is compatible with the latest Bluetooth SMART READY devices such as iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad mini, iPad (4th & 3rd generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and further devices are to be anounced in the future.
The way to connect it to your iDevice is by downloading and installing the COOKOO CONNECTED APP™ and then pressing a button on the watch (in simple terms). In this sense, the watch is very user friendly, with a clean display and not too many buttons or unnecessary functions. The background incorporates alerts for incoming calls, missed calls, messages and posts, calendar reminders, if your device is out of range, low battery on iPhone or iPad, as well as an alarm and a timer alert. The App allows you to choose what notifications you want to receive. On top of that, it also works as a camera and music player remote, and has a Facebook check-in function.
The watch comes in four basic colors and a limited edition one (in green), but you can also put a band of your liking on, whether it’s metal, leather, or other materials.
As a final touch, since the concept of the watch is of course inspired from the traditional cuckoo clock, it comes in a case that can be later used as a bird house. So you get a nice smart watch AND appear sensitive to the ladies. Win-win, right? All in all, its shining features definitely recommend this watch and we obviously like it a lot.
