The Crocodile Hunter actor’s daughter Bindi Irwin paid homage to her father on social media on September 4, the 16th anniversary of his passing, and shared his endearing new moniker.
“Grandpa Crocodile, I know you would’ve been the most incredible grandfather because you were such an extraordinary dad. Thank you for being an amazing guardian angel for Grace.” She posted about her 17-month-old daughter Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, whom she and her husband Chandler Powell share, on Instagram on September 4.

The 24-year-old also uploaded a vintage photo of her holding an infant alligator in her palms while wearing matching headlights with her father.
A few short weeks ago, Bindi posted a touching video of Grace Warrior at the Australian Zoo expressing her own love for her maternal grandparents.
“Tears in my eyes as I share this video. We call my mum and dad, Bunny and Grandpa Crocodile with Grace. She loves them (and koalas) dearly. On every zoo walk, she searches for pictures of her grandparents and it is beyond” On August 25, she posted a video of her kid approaching a mural with Steve, Terri Irwin, and a koala bear.

While filming a nature documentary, Steve was pierced in the chest by a stingray barb and passed away in 2006 at the age of 44. Robert Irwin was just 2 years old at the time, while Bindi was 8 years old.
“It’s Father’s Day today in Australia, and I am sending my love to those who are missing their dad today. I cherish all the good times with my dad and feel grateful to be able to keep his memory and legacy alive.” In September, he published a homage to their father.
Bindi posted an alternative memorial to her late father earlier this year: an alligator tattoo on her inner forearm with the words “graceful warrior” next to it.
