Offered in black, white and brown, the $239 top of the chain M50x provide incredible quality sound. The only obvious change from the normal M50 is the detachable cable. Three replacement cables are supplied by the manufacturer: two normal cables with a length of 1.2 m and a 1.2 m coiled cable. What you don’t see, but you should feel are the revised ear-pads that are even more comfortable to wear. The bass is very deep but clear and the Highs are are incredible crisp. The Mids will let you perceive sounds that you will not hear so clearly even with much more expensive headphones. The build quality couldn’t have been better, only if you used different materials. Although they’re made from plastic they give you a stable and durable feel.
While they are more a rival to the Beats Studio by Dre than the cheaper Beats Solo 2, they cost a good deal less than either. So if you’re looking for a great set of desktop headphones, under the price of $400 the high-end M50x model is the best choice out there.
