Owning a high-end sports vehicle, such as a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or flagship Porsche, is a fantasy for the majority of mortal men, and it remains just that. Not to mention supercars, which are in their own category of ultra-luxury vehicles. This is the territory of McLaren, a renowned vehicle manufacturer that has established itself as a sort of de facto benchmark for supercars.
The majority of us will never experience what it’s like to drive a sports vehicle worth a million dollars. But McLaren’s recently released collaboration with independent footwear manufacturer Athletic Propulsion Labs wants to give you a distinctive flavor.
As a consequence, the brand-new APL McLaren HySpeed is now available. It is an all-purpose, high-performance running trainer with a distinctive shape and cutting-edge footwear technology. It stands for the convergence of the ideologies of the two businesses and their shared dedication to pushing the limits of wealth, power, and design.
McLaren and APL are experts in building methods and components that ensure the greatest degree of performance. The HySpeed also has a distinctive three-piece segmented midsole. The front and back feature unique APL FutureFoam pods that are reinforced by an in-between full-length carbon fiber plate. A nitrogen-infused substance designed for high compression and responsiveness is applied on top of everything else.
The Senna seats from McLaren, which are intended to keep you securely yet comfortably in place, served as inspiration for the heel design as well. Take it into consideration as a supercar frame for your feet.
Starting this week, both men and women may purchase the APL McLaren HySpeed in five striking colorways: White/McLaren Orange, White/Black/Ombre, Rose Dust/Creme, Energy/Metallic Silver, and (our fave) McLaren Orange. Athletic Propulsion Labs’ most expensive in-line product to date, the limited-edition performance runners sell for $450 when purchased directly from Athletic Propulsion Labs and the Los Angeles APL Flagship Store Experience.
Other top stores that carry them include Luisa Via Roma, Net-A-Porter, Mr. Porter, Level Shoes, FWRD, and Pedder Group. It may be the first footwear partnership for McLaren. However, the official press release gives the impression that this exciting new cooperation with APL is only getting started.
