After seven seasons as the bandleader of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on CBS, Jon Batiste has left the program. Louis Cato will lead the band permanently after being elevated from interim leadership.
Colbert remarked on the program, “We’ve been so fortunate to have a front row seat to Jon’s great skill for the past seven years.
” Will we miss his being here? ‘Yeaaa!’ But Jon, we’re delighted for you, and I can’t wait to welcome you back as a guest with your subsequent big single. The announcement may be seen below.
At the 2022 Grammy Awards earlier this year, Batiste’s record We Are won Album of the Year. Along with Lady Gaga, H.E.R., Justin Bieber, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, Tony Bennett, and Kanye West, he was nominated for a Grammy. He received the most Grammy nominations this year of any artist.

“It has been one of the great honors of my life to work on this show, alongside some of the most talented musicians and creatives I know. Watching and learning from both Jon and Stephen for these past seven years, I’m genuinely excited to continue the tradition of excellence they’ve established.” Cato claimed.
