Some fans can’t help but gaze at the past, despite Adam Levine‘s desire to focus on the future.
After Instagram model Sumner Stroh came out and said she had an affair with the singer earlier this week, the Maroon 5 frontman vehemently denied cheating on wife Behati Prinsloo.
“I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner. I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life.” Adam added on social media.
A previous interview with the Grammy winner where he discussed his views on adultery leaked online after Adam said that his family “will get through it together.”
In a 2009 interview with Cosmopolitan, the 29-year-old described, “Instinctively, monogamy is not in our genetic makeup. People cheat. I have cheated. And you know what? There is nothing worse than the feeling of doing it.”
The singer’s marriage has come under scrutiny nevertheless when Sumner made claims about her friendship with Adam.
Sumner said in a TikTok video that was published late on September 19 that she believed the singer’s marriage to Behati “was over” when they supposedly started dating.
“I believed that they were keeping it quiet to avoid the negative press because, as I had said, I was new to L.A. So I just assumed that with celebrities of that caliber, that that’s just how it was.” She pointed out.
“In retrospect, I wish I would’ve questioned things more. I wish I wasn’t so naïve but being naïve is not an excuse for what I did and the role I played in this.”
“Again, in no way was I trying to gain sympathy and I fully realize I’m not the victim in this. I’m not the one who’s really getting hurt here, it’s Behati and her children and for that I’m so so sorry.”
Behati hasn’t publicly addressed the problem, but Adam has made it plain that his family comes first.
“My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly mattered to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again. I take full responsibility.” Adam shared
