On his health, Travis Barker is providing some details. The 46-year-old Blink-182 drummer revealed to his 7.5 million Instagram followers on Saturday that he is “now lot better” after being sent to the hospital earlier this week with “life-threatening” pancreatitis.
“I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great but after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since. During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis. I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment, I am currently much better.” – Travis Barker on his pancreatitis.
In a statement posted on her own Instagram Story, Barker’s wife Kourtney Kardashian said that they were “very humbled and thankful” for the support they have received.
In a picture acquired by TMZ, Kardashian was earlier shown following Barker on Tuesday as he was carried into Cedars-Sinai on a stretcher. He had pancreatitis, an inflammation of the digestive and blood sugar-regulating organ, according to a source who disclosed his condition to others. He was announcing cramps, they alleged.
“Yesterday, Kourtney was concerned. They were both, “said a different insider. Travis could hardly move because of excruciating abdominal ache. According to a second source, Kardashian “won’t leave his side” while he is in the hospital.
As his ex-wife Shanna Moakler’s daughter Atiana De La Hoya, 23, whom she shares with Oscar De La Hoya, spoke up to her followers, Barker’s daughter Alabama Luella, 16, pleaded with the public to “please send your prayers.”
Between 2004 and 2008, Barker and Moakler were married; in addition to their daughter Alabama, they also had a son, Landon Asher, who is 18 years old.
Moakler, even thanked her followers for their encouragement, adding that her ex-boyfriend “has repeatedly defied the odds, and with his support network, I am confident that he will succeed once more. For him and my kids, I will always be here.”
