A chopper bike? Well, I’d be the first to admit you are not actually getting a full sized chopper. However, Ruffian presents a great electric bike concept, one that fits the needs of a dapper gentleman and more. It’s built in Germany using only high-quality parts.
On a personal note, it looks gorgeous no matter the establishment you put it in.
If you plan on saving the environment, find out from the start that Ruffian ebike produces no emissions whatsoever. The core of the electric system is a Bosch drive which aids the user even on the steeper inclines – where you might not normally go. Bikes are hand-assembled in Germany.
The frame of the Ruffian is made from high strength aluminum. The Ruff Cycles Z-Dragbar handlebar is built from Chromium-Molybdenum alloy, the same material used for professional hand tools.
The 26″ double-wall aluminum wheels are dressed in Cruzo Classic tires. Combined with the electric drive and the 500Wh battery, Ruffian gets a top speed of around 25 km/h when working of full electric mode. You get to ride it up to 90km before the battery is depleted and it curiously takes just one a half hours to charge to 80%.
Finally, it comes down to price. As you might expect, the Ruffian doesn’t come very cheap, and rated at 5,499 euros it may throw some people off the idea. However, comparing to a city car that you’d otherwise use on short distances, the Ruffian might be the cheaper (overall) alternative. At least the statements stays true for summer time.
