If there’s at least a shadow of a geek in you, the word “snake” won’t bring up ideas about pythons or cobras. Instead, you will instantly think about the spare time eater that you used to play on old Nokia phone. And, if you had a Nokia, chances are you remember the indestructible war machine called 3310. The phone featured a huge load of battery time and could survive a nuclear blast.
Now, after 17 years, the Finnish phone company is relaunching the legend. The new Nokia 3310 comes with a modern redesign but is boasting the same awesome characteristics that made it famous. First of all, the battery lets you talk for about a day. If you keep the phone on standby, you won’t have to charge it for almost a month. Secondly, the new design promises to provide durability. After all, this is the main perk of a 3310.
Next up, Snake got a make up, too. The game is now colored and a little bit more tricky. Now you can turn at angles different from 90 degrees, as in the original game. Nevertheless, it is going to be fun snaking around!
Here’s what’s new. The modern Nokia 3310 comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD slot for up to 32GB, at a 2.4″ polarized and curved screen. Nokia proposes four colorways to choose from: Warm Red, Yellow, Dark Blue and Grey. The first two shades bring a glossy finish while the latter two come in matte.
As you should expect, Nokia 3310 is no flagship smartphone killer. Obviously, it is not designed for this purpose. Instead, you are getting perks that a cutting edge smartphone can’t possibly offer. You are getting tremendous battery life and a sweet taste of old memories. Nokia 3310 is the ideal modern phone to either use as a backup or as a main communication device, if all you want to do is call and text. Nokia will be selling the phone for a moderated price ($52), but distribution starts in a few months.
