Whenever you are talking about luxury, excess is always tagging along – because after all, that’s the purest definition of luxury: having more than you could possibly need. It’s the case of Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, a two door, two seater coupe stretching over no less than 5.4 meters (18 ft.) and offering every bit of comfort paired by an electrical drive.
The design starts with a large front grille standing at the front of the elongated hood. Below, a set of 24-inch transparent, transforming wheels provide contact with the ground. On the inside, the rather small cockpit pushes white and transparent blue nuances, providing the feel of a futuristic spaceship control deck.
Each wheel features an insanely powerful electric motor, the total output rating around 738 horsepower. Given the immense torque provided by electric engines, Mercedes-Maybach would reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 4 seconds. The 80 kWh battery is worth 200 miles (320km) of road in one full charge, and can be ready to go another 62 miles (100 km) within 5 minutes of charging with the right equipment. Furthermore, Mercedes states the vehicle can be charged either by plugging in or wirelessly, through an inductive system.
Getting back to the inside, the analog gauges are doubled by a touchscreen capable glass wrapping, boosting functionality along with the information displaying sunroof. Seats are able to recognize users and even their outfits, automatically managing everything from positioning to massage and lightning.
Will you get to see this concept on the road? Chances are definitely above zero, but don’t hold your breath. It might take some serious interest and money input to convince Mercedes executives that this mega-flagship is worth a try.
