Made with Fine Taste
In Northern Europe, going to work by bicycle is more than a thing. It’s a cult. Everyone does that, it has become natural and so wide spread, that people who don’t practice it are in minority. One of the bikes that made history, especially in Sweden, was the Kronan, or Crown, if translated to English. The guys from People People took the idea and turned it to Spiran, or Scepter. This is what I call a sweet bike.
They wanted to recreate the bike in style, making it look not only like a newer version, but an improved, better one. First thing, the model is inspired by the old Swedish post and delivery bikes, crucial in those times when any delivery or transport could take more or less, depending on how you decided to make it happen. But it looks vintage, not old. It’s chic and simple, made with fine taste and style.
A Classic in the Making
The Spiran uses not only a lightweight frame, but it’s intended to conceptualize the idea of a featherweight bike. For instance, People People opted out for a single speed approach, with a carbon fiber belt instead of chain. Gears add weight and they need attention, but the single speed system is getting more and more used these days. Like this, everything is fast, quiet, easy to maintance and grease-free.
Another issue was the bike lock. They fixed it using the basket in front, which transforms itself when you arrive at the destination. Now, you don’t have to buy a third party locker, carry it around, worry about the quality of the item bought and so long and so forth. You can enjoy your time to a maximum with this model. So if you’re thinking about gifting yourself with a beautiful bicycle, great for riding inside your town, go for this classic in the making.
