Turning a boring object into an interesting figure is not an easy task, but manageable when one gets a brilliant idea. Talking about things that lighten up, BULBING lamps provide an interesting take on the casual home lighting applications. Instead of fiddling with new and expensive technology. With a kickstarter campaign that was funded in just 3 days and nominated as the bestselling product on several stores, BULBING can be called a game changer for lamps.

So, how does it work? As mentioned, the lamps provide only the illusion of a 3D object. In order to develop this sight, designer Nir Chehanowski used carved acrylic glass of only 5mm thick. The great part? The design are interchangeable, as there is more than one 3D shape to be seen. The newest members of the bulbing family are Deski, taking an approach on everyday’s reading light, Ziggi, designed to give an energy boost to any room, and Classi, built for improving the overall ambiance of the room in which it’s placed.
As the designer states, the lamps can be applied anywhere, fitting perfectly in any environment: living room, shop, bedroom. In the near future, Bulbings will receive higher intensity LEDs to allow reading and other light intensive applications. Also, lamps may feature a dimmer, allowing the user to change the light intensity according to his or her own needs. The original wooden base has been converted to steel and a birchwood stand has been added for extra height and proportion. The LED’s inside the lamp are expected to last up to 50,000 hours.
