You can welcome the summer of 2014 by trying out the hottest new extreme watersport to hit the oceans – flyboarding. And, let’s face it, who doesn’t want to rocket 45 feet out of the water or swim like a dolphin? We know we do. These boards are selling at an outrageous price, but to be perfectly honest, it’s a pretty fair trade – after all, you’ll temporarily possess Aquaman/Ironman powers. This ingeniously simple device latches on to a jet ski motor, then routes the water jet that comes out through a long hose connected to a pair of jet boots and hand-held stabilizers. This allows you to either fly up to 9 meters in the air or leap headfirst through the water and waves. As previously mentioned, it depends on whether you’re more of an Ironman kind of person or an Aquaman guy. It looks magnificent even when not in use, but imagine seeing somebody hurtling through the air with a trail of saltwater behind them, bathed in sunlight and foam. Now that’s something worth saving up for.
[adsense300gray]You can either join the FlyBoard crew for an introductory flight here, or purchase your very own FlyBoard/HoverBoard without testing it first (because it’s just. that. awesome.) Keep in mind though that all purchasers of the FlyBoard or HoverBoard must complete a $350 Operators course, as training must be completed prior to receiving your item. You will be required to pass a test on the content of the Manual prior to training on your FlyBoard. The training for the Operator takes about three hours, and upon completion you will receive a certificate and a photo ID showing you have completed the course. Then it’s off to the seaside, to splash around and, well… fly or hover!
