La Soupe Populaire is a one-of-a-kind restaurant located in Berlin. Contrary to popular belief, this place doesn’t serve just soup. With a look that reminds us of a rundown garage, this particular restaurant compensates through perfect cuisine. The chef, Tim Raue, the proud possessor of two Michelin stars, guarantees that the food has to be (and probably is) no less than extraordinary.
The place itself also functions as an art gallery, something which is pretty evident, given the density of art per square meter. La Soupe Populaire not only serves food – it periodically hosts a suite of exhibitions, so that you can feed both your stomach and your brain. It’s quite the bargain, really.
[adsense300gray]The food is created to complement the works of art exhibited in this symbiotic restaurant/studio, with an ever-changing menu finely tuned to the exhibitions. Each course is served on white Urbino porcelain (a design from the 1930s) through which Tim Raue pays tribute to his idea of a fresh and homey ‘people’s cuisine.’
So that you know what to expect as far as prices are concerned, note that one course can vary between nine and 22 euros. To check for menu updates, you can always take a look at their website.
