Everyone finds Jeffrey Dahmer’s reemergence in the public eye to be disturbing.
Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s DAHMER – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which is available on Netflix, stars Evan Peters as the legendary serial murderer. In the series, Dahmer’s murderous rampage from 1978 to 1991, during which he killed and mutilated over 20 victims, is depicted in graphic detail.
Since its debut on Sept. 21, the series has dominated social media conversation and soared to the top of the streamer charts, but not everyone is a fan.
Rita Isbell claims she was never even informed that Netflix was producing a series on the crimes. Her 19-year-old brother Errol Lindsey was killed by Dahmer in April 1991.
“I feel like Netflix should’ve asked if we mind or how we felt about making it. They didn’t ask me anything. They just did it. But I’m not money hungry, and that’s what this show is about, Netflix trying to get paid.” Isabel explained.
Isbell claimed that the streamer ought to have donated a portion of their earnings to the kids of Dahmer’s victims.
“If the show benefited them in some way, it wouldn’t feel so harsh and careless. It’s sad that they’re just making money off of this tragedy. That’s just greed.” Isabell commented.
Isbell provided a victim impact statement during Dahmer’s trial in 1992, which is recreated in the series. However, her cousin Eric Perry, who is also a member of Lindsey’s family, questioned the necessity of the series.

Isbell swore to never stop fighting for the horribly murdered brother she lost as the public was reminded of Dahmer’s tragedy once more.
