When the revival of the venerable 1980s television series Dynasty was first announced in 2017, Elizabeth Gillies was the obvious option for a leading part. Her off-screen beauty is extremely Dynasty screen-siren-like, to start.
Think of the original cast members Joan Collins and Heather Locklear (big, bouncy hair and makeup that emphasizes the cheekbones), but Gillies adds her own modern Hollywood spin using tricks she learned from more than a decade in the spotlight.
But it was announced there won’t be a return of Elizabeth Gillies to Dynasty any time soon.
Following the show’s abrupt termination, the actress, who played heiress Fallon Carrington for the whole five seasons of the series, gave an explanation of why she wouldn’t play the role again.
When asked if she’d be “in” for another season of the program on The Zach Sang Show on September 15, Gillies said, “No, I’m not.”
“I’ve already processed this. It’s like, you’re asking me something like if somebody broke up with you—if your relationship came to a natural ending with whoever you’re with—if they called you back after you haven’t seen each other and said, ‘Actually, should we date? Should we date for just a little, tiny bit longer, and then should we break up again?’ No, there’s no point.”
The Carringtons and the Colbys, two of America’s wealthiest families, were the subjects of Dynasty on The CW, a remake of the long-running 1980s soap opera of the same name.
The program’s series finale, which aired on September 16, dropped between 2017 and 2022. On September 18, Gillies shared a cute photo of the cast cuddling to mark the end of the play on Instagram.
