Cardi B is accepting accountability for her deeds. The rapper admitted to two misdemeanor charges on September 15 for her involvement in a bottle-throwing incident that occurred at a strip club in Queens, New York, in 2018.
Cardi pleaded guilty to third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, according to WNBC, who was present in court. She will not go to jail since she promised to perform 15 days of community service.
“Part of growing up and maturing is being accountable for your actions. As a mother, it’s a practice that I am trying to instill in my children, but the example starts with me. I’ve made some bad decisions in my past that I am not afraid to face and own up to. These moments don’t define me and they are not reflective of who I am now.” Cardi stated to other sources.
“I’m looking forward to moving past this situation with my family and friends and getting back to the things I love the most—the music and my fans.” She added.
In October 2018, Cardi received a misdemeanor summons in relation to an altercation that happened in August at a Queen’s strip club and in which bartenders were allegedly attacked with objects during the altercation.
The rapper’s lawyer stated to WNBC at the time that he was “aware of no evidence that she caused anybody any harm,” but did not mention the misdemeanor charge in the summons.
But according to sources, Cardi acknowledged in her plea deal that she paid a buddy $5,000 to assault an Angels Gentleman’s Club employee. She acknowledged hurling glass bottles in the victim’s and her sister’s direction as well.
Cardi B is required to remain away from both victims for three years as part of the plea deal.
The Grammy winner stunned kids at her former middle school in New York with a $100,000 donation only days before entering her guilty plea.
The “Bodak Yellow” rapper added in a tape, “This school means a lot to me, more than any school I’ve ever been to. “The choices you make right now are crucial,”
Cardi claims that the money will likely support after-school activities including tutoring, music, and dancing.
