The French luxury brand “has re-upped their contract” with Depp, according to a source involved in the arrangement, reflecting a “seven-figure” agreement for the 59-year-old to continue serving as the face of Dior’s men’s fragrance Sauvage.
Dior’s official beauty Instagram released images and videos of Depp backstage at one of his most recent shows in Paris, captured by renowned photographer Greg Williams, giving the impression that the two brands are still close.
On August 8, one caption stated, “Fearless but human.” Similar to Sauvage… Another video shows Depp entering the stage with his guitar in hand in front of a raucous audience and saying, “Sauvage brings me a lot of memories, a lot of shows.”
“Things that you smelled growing up that if I smell it, it takes me right back and I see the person that used to wear it. It’s a sense memory, so a smell can make you travel.” Johnny Depp stated.
Since 2015, the actor has represented Dior’s Sauvage. The Wall Street Journal stated in June that the item was the best-selling men’s fragrance on Sephora and Ulta’s websites throughout his recent trial.
A jury held Heard responsible for defaming Depp on June 1 after she identified herself as a “public figure representing domestic violence” in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed.
Punitive penalties were ultimately lowered to the state’s legal cap of $350,000, bringing the total damages granted to close to $10.4 million from the jury’s initial $15 million verdict for the actor.
