At the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, the 39-year-old rapper is expected to get the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. And the celebration of Nicki will get off to an explosive start. She will take the MTV VMAs stage for the first time in four years.

According to MTV, performers get the gilded award “for their remarkable accomplishments and deep effect on a music video and popular culture.”
Nicki Minaj also joins a distinguished group. Among the celebrities who have received the honor in the past are Missy Elliott, Jennifer Lopez, Pink, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Britney Spears, LL Cool J, Madonna, and David Bowie.
Nicki may leave with more awards than just this one. She is also a nominee in the Best Hip-Hop category for the song “Do We Have A Problem?” she co-wrote with Lil Baby.
In addition, Nicki Minaj has previously won a few VMAs, including Best Hip-Hop Video for “Super Bass,” “Anaconda,” and “Chun-Li,” Best Female Video for “Starships,” and Best Power Anthem for “Hot Girl Summer” alongside Megan Thee Stallion and Ty Dolla $ign.

With seven nominations apiece, Jack Harlow, Kendrick Lamar, and Lil Nas X are in first place this year, followed by Doja Cat and Harry Styles with six each. Drake, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Billie Eilish each received five nominations.
