Megan Gray is the brilliant Model with the brain smarts of a businesswoman. The Northern English village of Wesham is home to the self-described “countryside girl,” who grew up “mucking around and riding my horse on loop.”
Her Instagram page lacks any beauty photos with an equestrian theme. Without any prior pageantry experience, her tenacious commitment to fitness is what allowed her to go all the way to the Miss Universe Great Britain 2020 finals.
“I adore a boot camp-style, high-intensity workout. The tougher, the better,” she declares, revealing that her father is a professional boxing referee who has competed in the ring with athletes like Anthony Joshua. “Boxing has been a part of my upbringing, and I find it to be such a demanding type of exercise.”
This work ethic goes beyond exercising. Along with modeling for household names like Harrods and Estee Lauder, Gray and her mother also own and operate Lady Gray, a one-stop store for hair and beauty. Even the enormous hurdle of opening in the midst of the epidemic was conquered by the strong pair.
“We only opened two years ago just as restrictions begun to be lifted in the UK from the pandemic. The first year was tough we were open and closed. Weddings were no longer going ahead and if they were, numbers were limited and no one was going anywhere. The fact we made it through that first year shows us anything is possible.” Megan stated.
Gray’s primary interests include creating a beauty empire, but she also has ambitions to emulate Claudia Schiffer, her “style idol,” by working as a model for Guess and British cosmetics company Charlotte Tilbury.
