As winter sheds its last frozen chips and sun starts creeping in through the clouds, let’s have a look at what footwear would be a perfect match for the upcoming cozy season.
Table of Contents
1. Nike React Collection
Standing behind 2000 hours of lab testing at the Nike Sports Research Lab, the Nike React Collection stands out as a top contender in sports shoes. Seen for the first time in 2017, the newest iteration brings better cushioning, endure the harshest runs and provide 13% more energy recovery.
The new React collection features the Element 55, Element 87, Undercover React Presto and React V2 models. Get them on KITH starting at $200.
2. Adidas Y-3 KAIWA KNIT
As bold and clean as it gets, the Y-3 Kaiwa Knit brings a one-piece knit upper along a detachable lacing system. Adidas recommends switching the lacing set in order to enjoy an even higher variety of looks with the same sneaker.
The upper features Primeknit technology while the EVA midsole is accompanied by the Yohji Yamamoto marking. Everything rests on a rubber outsole with elastane heel lining.
Get it on Baiteme for $350.
3. GmbH x ASICS GEL-Nandi 360
A fresh olive green iteration of the GEL-Nandi 360 was just advertised by GmbH in collaboration with ASICS. The all-black upper rests over a gradient olive sole. While there aren’t yet any hints regarding availability or price, it is expected for the sneaker to drop this spring.
4. Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 5
Virgil Abloh’s interpretation of the upcoming Nike Air Jordan 5 shattered hearts all across the sneaker community. The concept goes back to the first Jordan sneaker owned by Abloh, a “Black Metallic” Air Jordan 5.
Unlike the Jordan 5 that MJ wore, Abloh’s iteration comes with circular holes. This is to further impose on the idea of “Air”, as Abloh’s sees it as the foundation of the brand.
The Off-White x Nike Air Jordan 5 dropped on February 15th and sold in a flash. You can get still bid for a pair at auction starting at roughly $800.
5. New Balance Kawhi
Kawhi Leonard and New Balance revealed the first signature sneaker of Los Angeles Clippers star player just before Sunday night’s NBA All Star Game. Kawhi took the fans by surprise when deciding not to pursue another contract with Jordan in 2018 and instead sign with New Balance.
The sneaker, simply called KAWHI features a PE version of the New Balance OMN1S. Sadly, the sneaker won’t be released sooner than the fall of 2020, although we were able to spot Kawhi wearing it during the NBA All Star Game.
