Just a few weeks ago Dodge revealed the Challenger SRT Hellcat, a car that has the most powerful engine in the company’s history. Well, the manufacturer is full of surprises and just mounted the same engine on the 2015 Charger thus making the most powerful sedan in the world. Storming this 4-door monster is a supercharged 6.2 liter Hemi V8 that produces 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, more than the almighty Viper’s 8.4 V10 that only delivers 640 horsepower. Dodge prides itself not only with creating the fastest and most powerful sedan but also with a huge brake system, stronger and more efficient than anything the brand has ever offered before. Worth mentioning specs: the car covers the quarter mile time in only 11 seconds, a top speed of 204 mph and the ability to drain a full tank of fuel in 13 minutes.
[adsense300gray]The nickname is Fury. Why? Well, besides the zero to 60 mph time of 3.7 seconds, just a quick look at the car and you will notice some differences: the huge air intakes, bigger and louder exhaust, 20-inch wheels and large Brembo brakes, making this car worthy of it’s name, or nickname in this case.
The interior looks almost conservative, offering you a choice of four trim/color combinations (Nappa and Alcantara leather). Other interior stuff that got our attention: aluminium applications, new three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a 7-inch digital gauge cluster.
For driving experience the Hellcat offers 4 different modes, letting you to choose from Custom, Sport, Track, and a default setting. Just like in the Challenger’s case, the Charger needs a special red key to unleash its full 707 ponies, normally the V8 revving to 4.000 rpm/min and releasing “only” 500 horses.
The production for the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is scheduled to begin in Spring 2015. Prices have not yet been announced.
